The ‘David’ in a Divided Gulf: Qatar's Foreign Policy and the 2017 Gulf Crisis

This article analyzes how Qatar strategically utilized its foreign policy to overcome the implications of 2017 Gulf crisis. Using neoclassical realism, it investigates ways in which used relations mitigate impact a crisis that barred from aerial, naval, and land corridors Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, henceforth referred as Quartet. The impacts are threefold. Starting macro-level perspective, leveraged status crucial energy supplier, alongside resultant financial boon, prevent an international consensus supporting claims From micro-level likelihood military escalation was circumvented by Qatar's ties with Turkey States. Finally, economic largely absorbed Iran.
